Military Service | United States Army Corps of Engineers '68-'92 ![]() |

Joined U.S. Army Reserves after mandatory (Regular Army) required service while the Vietnam war was going on. I eventually served for 24 years, retiring as an Lieutenant Colonel. It was a good decision. During my service I was Assistant Facility Engineer Munich, the US Army Facility Engineer at Dachau, and Bad Aibling, Germany. I worked with the National Security Agency (NSA) while they spun up "Project Wildbore." (Look it up.) This was an incredible first of its kind geostationary signal intercept satellite project that captured Russian microwave communication signals in outer space due the the curvature of the earth. This top secret assignment resulted in the cancelling of my orders to Vietnam. (Oh darn!) I told myself I would never speak about this. Back then it was ultra top secret, now...just a little know snippet of US intelligence history.
